Clark Quinn- Quinnovation (.com). In various ways, I'm trying to lift the design of elearning. We need to improve our ID (see comment on The_Buzz), and take a broader view (incorporating serious games, mobile, performance support) and a more strategic stance (it's not about learning, it's about doing). Quick background: first job out of college was designing and programming educational computer games (back on TRS-80, Apple ][, etc). PhD in Applied Cog Sci, academic at UNSW, back into the elearning fray with several positions in elearning startups. Blog at Learnlets. Hope to see you at the conference!

Aisha Taylor / Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center / 2/8/07:

I am relatively new in instructional development & design having graduated from UGA in 2004 and working at The Blood Center for a year.  I'd like to learn more about the field, but I'm also intensely interested in speaking with those who have started their own business, like Mr. Quinn.  I have lots of questions! Oh yeah, my interest is in developing educational toys, games, courses, etc. for secondary and higher education.  However, I haven't found a company in Houston :(.  Also, my lack of classroom teaching experience appears to be a hindrance.  So, I'm here for advice and knowledge from those with more experience.

Aisha, thanks for participating. I also enjoyed our off-wiki email conversation the other day. Feel free to explore and contribute to this wiki as well as the other ASTD wikis that are available. We look forward to your input (and to that software program you talked about!)
